Hatchet & Hew Woodcraft LLC creates sustainable woodwork, blending craftsmanship with nature’s beauty. They needed a logo design that reflected their dedication to traditional woodworking and sustainability, while also standing out in their industry.

Challenge

The logo had to:

• Symbolize their tools of the trade, the hatchet and hewing axe, representing precision and artistry.
• Evoke timeless craftsmanship, aligned with their goal of producing long-lasting, heirloom-quality pieces.
• Stand out visually in a competitive space while capturing their brand identity.

Concept & Design Approach

We centered the design around the key tools of their trade—the hatchet and hewing axe—to reflect the precision and tradition central to their work. To add a refined touch, we incorporated elements inspired by Japanese-style hewing, which enhanced the design with a sense of timeless craftsmanship and global artistry.

Design Execution

• Axes: The hatchet and hewing axe were designed with clean, precise lines to symbolize craftsmanship, strength, and tradition.
• Japanese-Style Hewing Influence: This influence added an artistic and global dimension to the logo, highlighting the meticulous and enduring nature of their work.
• Color Palette: Neutral, earth tones were chosen to reflect the company’s respect for natural materials and sustainability.
• Typography: A modern sans-serif font was selected to balance the traditional elements of the logo with a contemporary look.
